This first meeting will provide an introduction to recovery and Goddess in the Steps. Following the AA 12-Step Program, we will cover the spiritual principles of the first two steps: Step 1: We admitted we were powerless over alcohol (and other addictions) — that our lives had become unmanageable. We will discuss honesty, the spiritual principle beneath the step, and the nature of honesty, particularly about our drinking and/or using other substances and behaviors. Step 2 - Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. We will talk about the spiritual principle of hope, what it means to have hope, and how this step helps us get it. This will also begin our exploration of the phrase “Higher Power.”
