**Kinstone is a leave-no-trace garden and is blessed to have a 540-foot deep well that provides some of the purest drinking water available. In honor of Mother Earth, we have chosen to avoid bottled water and instead, provide a reusable water bottle for you with unlimited, pure well-water throughout the day.

Things to know: We suggest you bring an umbrella, insect repellent, sunscreen, cushion/mat for sitting in the gardens. Please wear good walking shoes as the grounds are mainly grass paths.

Kinstone is a 30-acre haven of peaceful beauty --filled with stone sculptures, natural buildings, restored native prairie, oak savanna and spectacular views over the Mississippi River.

This modern megalithic site with three stone circles, dolmen, labyrinth, thatched cordwood chapel and more is a magical place to behold.

Kinstone was conceived and built by owner, Kristine Beck whose goal is to provide a place for all to connect to the land.

Come explore the Way of the Stones, hug the megaliths, immerse yourself in the art of the natural buildings, walk the labyrinth, leave a prayer on the Tree of Intention, re-member your ancestors at the Dolmen. Engage all of your senses. Listen to the sounds of life around you. Look at the beauty and wonder throughout the place. Feel the breezes and sunshine; touch the water in Basin Rock. Smell the fresh scent of the prairie and gardens of herbs and flowers. Savor the tranquility of this sacred site.

New World Women co-founder, Shawn Vougeot will serenade us at the Summer Solstice sunrise with a violin solo. (Please gather no later than 5:15am).

Shawn will sing The New World song at the Opening Ceremony (11:00 am).

Shawn is a professional singer, songwriter, composer and violinist. She is also a videographer, TV producer and cat lover.

Artists Joe Lerro and Wang Ping of the Kinship of Rivers project

(see will share the meanings and stories behind their art installation, “We are one Family,” that is part of the 4Ground: Midwest Land Art Biennial 2022 (link:

Their installation includes thousands of Kinship of Rivers prayer flags made by people from all over the globe and carried by Ping to the great rivers and mountains of the world that will be on display at Kinstone Megalithic Garden for the Summer Solstice event.

In addition, a black locust pergola will host prayer flags made by visitors as well as living vines of nourishing, shade-giving beans.  This structure interacts with plants, prayer flags, people, poetry and art. The prayer flags are messengers of peace from the Yangtze, Ganges, Amazon, Mississippi, Nile, Zambezi and other rivers as well as from Mounts Everest and Kilimanjaro.
This introductory celebration will include a water blessing ceremony and drumming and singing by tribal elder, Al Baker.

All are invited to create a prayer flag to add to this installation at an art station available at Kinstone throughout the day. Let your art and poetry on a prayer flag become a messenger of peace for the whole world.

This event is open to the public. New World Women ticket holders will be able to participate.

The Closing Ceremony will include native flute music performed by New World Women Founding Mother and Luminary, Janalea Hoffman and a Sacred Circle dance.

Janalea is a Music Therapy Pioneer in addition to being a musician, author, speaker and owner/founder of Rhythmic Medicine.

Circle dance is the oldest form of dance on earth. The circle provides an ideal space for everyone to feel supported and connected while sharing the joy of dance.
