Self-described as a "nature girl," Joanna believes the profound intelligence of nature is one of the greatest gifts to humankind. Her attraction to the beauty of nature and the arts fosters her passion to create healing visual images of nature that excite the mind and the imagination, while calling to the soul.
As an artist, Joanna's current works combine multiple styles and eclectic imagery to create complex layered pieces of art. Her pieces evoke the emotional, magical and mystical within.
Using a printing press, photography, oils, inks and collage, Joanna creates hand-embellished pastiche compositions, transforming the viewer from observer to participant in each piece.
Joanna's artistic talents are widespread and forever expanding. She also loves working with Alla Prima (wet on wet) oils, watercolors, sepia and ceramics, in addition to jewelry-making. Constantly in a state of creation, whether it pertains to her artwork or the art of patient care, Joanna is always creating acts of beauty.
In addition to being a mixed media artist, she is photographer, scientist, healer and humanitarian.
