Flinging Open a Door . . . to a Better Future for All

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first Black woman confirmed to the US Supreme Court, will transform it. Justice Jackson said “In the poetic words of Dr. Maya Angelou, ‘I am the dream and the hope of the slave.’” Justice Jackson continued, "It has taken 232 years and 115 prior appointments for a Black woman to be selected to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States, but we've made it! We've made it - all of us."
A new world cannot be created by repackaging the old world and keeping doors closed.
Justice Jackson's appointment to the United States Supreme Court has spread the door wide open for the inclusion of new voices and perspectives. For this, we are all better.
We, in New World Women, congratulate and thank Justice Jackson and wish her every success.
